Cesky Terrier
History:

The Cesky Terrier, also known as the Bohemian Terrier or Czech Terrier was developed by Dr Frantisek Horak, who bred Scottish and Sealyham Terriers in The Czech Republic in the 1930s. He wanted a short-legged, hunting terrier that was not only a pack-hunting dog but that was also a good family pet and show dog. Dr Horak cross bred the Scottish and Sealyham Terriers and the first Cesky Terrier litter was born in 1950. This breed is one of the rarest dog breeds in the world, and was first recognized by The Federation Cynologique Interationale (an international federation of breed clubs based in Belgium) in 1963. The breed was first imported into America in the late 1980s. It is recognized by all the major Kennel Clubs in Europe, and is currently classified by the American Kennel Club as a Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breed.
